Winemaker's Notes
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of nine different vineyards from throughout the Columbia Valley. Powerful concentration is enhanced by the intense flavors of beautiful black fruit, dark chocolate and espresso. Pomagragate and tea understones thrill the palate through the long finish. This is a well-built wine that will age well into the future.
This blend begins with a trip to the humidor: tobacco, cedar and vanilla along with blackberries and black cherries. The flavors are expressive- yet not over the top- with plum jam and freshly brewed espresso. It's a masterful example of managing oak and fruit that shows terrific balance and great length
"This two-time gold medal winner from a top Walla Walla Valley winery reveals aromas of red currants, cherries and sage, followed by flavors of black cherries and dark berries. The approachable tannins meld with the fruit, providing structure without getting in the way. This would pair well with rustic pasta dishes."
