A warm summer night in Bordeaux with 12 French enologists, after 14 bottles of dry Rosés . . . an epiphany! A friend, a Rosé, and an ice bucket, tis the way on a summer day! Aah! Summertime . . . salmon, ham sandwich, pasta salad, corn on the cob, B-L-T, cold beet salad, slow Saturday lunches, balmy evening breezes. Our eighth, not-so simple, dry, barrel-fermented, barrel-aged, lush, rich Rosé. Real Rosé. Serious Rosé? Yes! There are such things. A lot of sweat, thought, and loving care are in this bottle. Mostly using Sangiovese, but bits of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Lemberger, Malbec, and Riesling to add complexity. Venerable, neutral barrels to avoid awkward wood or lumber flavors. Flavor full, to match lighter foods and warmer weather. Still great with salmon in grey January.

Paradisos Red is a culinary creation of two unique varieties and two distinctive vineyards. Lemberger (68%) from the Crawford Vineyard for softness, raspberry and boysenberry aromas, and some spicy, black-pepper finish. Cabernet Sauvignon (32%) from both Vineyard del Sol and Crawford Vineyard adds body, grip, blackberry, and plum. Blended together, with a little bit of flavor from some new oak, and elevated with some barrel aging.
Blended with pizza on my mindreal pizza, made with love and care at home, or from the best pizza joint around. One of my goals is to make what is acknowledged as the Worlds Best Pizza Wine. But wait! Lets not forget lasagna, pasta putanesca, spaghetti, tacos, enchiladas, hamburgers, Cajun, barbeque . . . all made with love. Thats why we make this wine!

Sweet Late Harvest Botrytis Riesling is stepping a bit into the world of the strange and bizarre. To gaze at a grape covered with mold (miniscule mushrooms!) and shriveled by the sun . . . grayish . . . raisinish. To see inside, the droplet of ambrosia, juice transformed by The Noble Rot into decadence for us mere mortals. A jug of ordinary wine condensed to this small bottle of pure pleasure. The perfect sipping vessel for this elixir? Fine crystal? Yes. A goblet of gold encrusted with jewels? Sure. Or perhaps a navel?
