TASTING NOTES
Vibrant black cherry, raspberry and blackberry aromas seamlessly combine with scents of toasted oak and vanilla to produce an opulent bouquet. On the palate, bright red-fruit flavors are well balanced with nice acidity and smooth tannins that linger on the finish.

Merlot is a wine of impressive concentration and richness from what could be one of the very best vintages from Washington's Columbia Valley. Highlights of intense, ripe black fruit flavors create a complex are of mocha, black cherry, and cassis in the aroma and on the palate.

A luscious wine with notable depth and structure, Vireo is full of concentrated blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice and cedar. Aging for 21 months in small oak barrels graced Vireo with hints of spice and a supple texture.

Why does Chuck always find a little pencil in his wine?
This Merlot is no exception, and another thing that's really nice
Is the dash of cedar wood spice.
The faint smell of earth and dusty cocoa
Would make anyone happily loco.
And please be sure to lick your lip
Or else you'll miss out on the toasted rosehip.
With fig and dried plum and faint vanilla and orchid,
It's a perfect wine, if I may be so candid.

Winemaker's Notes
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of nine different vineyards from throughout the Columbia Valley. Powerful concentration is enhanced by the intense flavors of beautiful black fruit, dark chocolate and espresso. Pomagragate and tea understones thrill the palate through the long finish. This is a well-built wine that will age well into the future.
